Imagine a farm with a beautiful barn. The wood and steel are strong and stable. The sun is shining on the lush pasture and the animals are happily grazing and drinking from the running brook. The entire ecosystem is thriving because everything has its place and one thing feeds another.

The sheep and cows eat the grass and their manure fertilizes the soil. The chickens break up the manure and disperse it throughout the landscape.

The soil, which is now rich in nutrients, grows healthy plant life. Which then produces healthy food to eat.

You are this analogy. Your muscles and bones are the wood and steel that make up the barn. Your internal environment is the ecosystem. What would happen if the sun refused to shine and the water refused to flow?  What if the cows out numbered the other animals and overran the place? Would the farm look the same?

Think of me as a farmer. The consultation and intake helps me discover clues as to how your farm is functioning on its own. I will give advice on what you can do outside of the treatment space to help yourself. Many times that includes dietary or lifestyle adjustments- posture, stress reduction techniques, increased sleep and getting outside to enjoy the sun.

Needles are used to weed (pluck out those thorns in your muscles), till your soil (remove blockages) and get your water (blood) flowing. Because where there isn’t smooth flow, there is pain. I will also use needles to release endorphins and stimulate your body’s natural healing response. Most of the time, I will incorporate some form of body work and cupping to aide in the restoration process.

"Nicole is a miracle worker with acupuncture needles. She works with me on addressing the care of my muscles and relieving pressure on my joints in a way that allows for a quicker recovery period than other treatments. With dancing, many times the knots are buried in deeper muscles that a massage cannot reach easily or painlessly. Nicole’s techniques address these muscles and get me back on the stage almost immediately. Her gentle approach is top notch and she genuinely cares about the health and wellness of her patients. I wouldn’t be able to do my job without her healing abilities!"

"I approached Nicole DeLorey seven years ago after hearing from several colleagues they were very happy with their experience working with her. Being a male ballet dancer, I have struggles with back spasms and general muscle tightness. In the earlier years of my career I was able to manage these setbacks with massage and physical therapy, but as my schedule became more intense so did the level of pain and discomfort. Acupuncture with Nicole has been the most beneficial method of maintaining a healthy body. Nicole is an extremely knowledgeable acupuncturist and seems to know exactly what spots to needle without even asking. In addition, she is very understanding and gives you a sense that you’re working together as a team. Working with Nicole has allowed me to continue dancing at times that no other method of maintenance was able give me the same relief. Nicole has helped me immensely and I would recommend her work to a wide variety of people, especially someone who has pain due to a physical life style."

"After about 4 1/2 years of sever back pain, endless Doctors, physios, chiropractors, massages and costly spiral release work, Nicole was recommended to me by a friend after a doctor suggested an epidural. I had tried acupuncture on two occasions without much affect, so was dubious, but feeling somewhat desperate. I figured it couldn’t hurt. From the get go having explained my issues and when they had started, Nicole seemed to understand with complete clarity what was happening in my body and how and why, and had such a confidence that she could help, I knew I was dealing with a new level of competence. In that very first session she reached muscles that had been locked up without release for years, and brought me relief that I had long since given up on ever having. She was so thorough and found every exact point of pain and tension, I was drooling! In all honesty I went home after that first time and cried, as I had known pain and immobility in that area for so long, and was resigned to a future with that pain. Over the course of the next few weeks she released muscles that were deeply locked into spasm, and created movement and space throughout my back and hips, every time giving me such acute attention, so present, aware and thorough, varying techniques and approaches to further undo muscular reactions to my structural damage. I have since referred her to everyone I ever meet with any sort of issue, physical to emotional, and am always receiving rave feedback from people who are blown away with by both her  presence and confidence in her work, and the results that they see. I often joke that Nicole has become my answer to everything, she is a true healer, with an east to west intellect and true passion for the body.
-Thank you for everything Nicole, you have unquestionably changed my life!"

“I had been seeking treatment to address my seasonal allergies for decades, trying everything from allergy shots, sublingual drops and every seasonal allergy prescription available- all without long term success.  In desperation, I began trying acupuncture and it was moderately effective.  However, it wasn’t until I visited Nicole that the problems dramatically improved.  It’s not just any one particular thing that Nicole did but rather the combination of everything.  Nicole takes the time not only to understand all of the symptoms, but also to understand life events and behavioral details that may impact my overall health.  She provides an empathetic touch to the process and provides smart recommendations.  Another very important aspect of her practice is her punctual scheduling.  I’ve left many acupuncture practices because they cram people into the same time slot- effectively voiding the concept of an appointment.  Since my initial visits, I have seen Nicole for other ailments and have recommended her to everyone I know. Nicole is simply amazing”

“I’ve always had back pain, but about a year ago it reached a level where I actually didn’t think I could go on living. I went to see an orthopedic surgeon who sent me for an MRI, which revealed I had degenerative disc disease and a herniated disc. The doctor told me he wasn’t going to give me any pain killers (which I didn’t want anyway. I wanted a fix not a mask ) and “welcome to your golden years.”  I was hopeless because at this point my back was in such constant spasm I couldn’t even perform simple tasks like blow drying my hair!

I tried some local acupuncturist who just left me irritated after a treatment, got trigger point injections, went on multiple rounds of steroids, and was wearing 5% lidocaine patches on a daily basis. And still, I was suffering, not to mention the chemical wasteland I was dumping into my body.

My parents found Nicole through a mutual friend who said one of her specialties was back pain.

Her treatments are nothing like I’ve ever experienced! And in one month my back pain had gone from off the charts to a 5. And after 9 monthly visits I am virtually cured!

It’s amazing to come home from an 11 hour work day, and everything in my body is tired and hurting EXCEPT my back! I even mentioned to her on my last visit that I had been experiencing heart burn for a couple weeks, and after seeing her once, it was gone!

She’s truly a miracle worker! Talented, down to earth, current, personable, and extremely effective.

Even though my back has transformed from that of a 90 year old to one of a 20 year old, I would never stop my monthly upkeep visits! She literally gave me my life back, and I’m so grateful we found her.”

"I have known Nicole in excess of eight years. She has seen me through four surgeries, two of which were complicated and major. Nicole is a bright, intuitive, caring professional with a calming presence. She has an uncanny knack for listening, a rarity in this day and age of modern medicine. I have had acupuncture for almost 30 years of my life and Nicole is by far the best of acupuncturists!"
